Spooky season has officially arrived: Beetlejuice 2—aka Beetlejuice Beetlejuice—opens in theaters this weekend.
Over 30 years after the original Beetlejuice movie, Michael Keaton returns to his iconic role for this sequel to the beloved 1988 horror comedy. Director Tim Burton is also back, along with original cast members Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, who will reprise their roles from the first film. Jenna Ortega joins the cast as the teen daughter of Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, who gets herself into a sticky situation in the Afterlife. Lydia has no choice but to call in a favor from her old mischievous and demonic pal, Betelgeuse (Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse).
Also starring Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe, this Beetlejuice sequel is sure to be a spooky and fun-filled nostalgia fest for ’80s kids. If you want to watch the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Max.
Is Beetlejuice 2 streaming on Max?
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is not yet streaming on Max. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Beetlejuice 2 streaming on Max eventually—but we’re not sure when.
All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, for example, was released on PVOD four weeks after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Max on August 16, about three months after it was released in theaters. If Beetlejuice Beetlejuice follows a similar release pattern, you may see Beetlejuice 2 streaming on Max in about three months—around December 2024.
But that’s pure speculation. In the meantime, you can always catch Beetlejuice 2 in theaters, and watch the original Beetlejuice movie streaming on Max.
