From TikTok to TV! Variety reports that Taraesa “Reesa Tessa” Johnson’s TikTok series Who TF Did I Marry? will be made into a television series by Natasha Rothwell. The White Lotus star will portray Johnson in the series, which she is also executive producing.
For those unfamiliar with the viral social media sensation, Johnson kicked off her 50-part series in February, delving into her relationship with her ex-husband, whom she exposed as a purported pathological liar. Her TikTok page (@reesamteesa) currently has 3.6 million followers.
Per Variety, fans determined Johnson’s ex-husband, whom she called “Legion” throughout the series, to be Jerome McCoy, who has publicly denied the allegations. Among his slew of alleged lies are saying he served as the vice president of a condiment company and claiming that he played for San Diego State University’s football team, although he was never a student there.
According to Forbes, Johnson figured out who her husband really was through his Social Security number, and they ultimately got divorced.
Rothwell shared the news from Variety on Instagram, writing, “CAN’T STOP. WON’T STOP. LFG.”
Johnson took to TikTok to share the news, clarifying to her followers that “she didn’t disappear,” but rather “was in negotiations.”
“I am BEYOND excited to work with THE Natasha Rothwell,” she penned. “Listen, we are about to change the game. Get ready, get set, GO!!!”
The Who TF Did I Marry? TV series will be produced by ABC Signature and Rothwell’s Big Hattie Productions. Among Rothwell’s other notable credits are Insecure, Sausage Party: Foodtopia, and Wonka, as well as the upcoming Hulu series How to Die Alone, which begins streaming on Sept. 13.
