Netflix‘s new show The Perfect Couple is set at a luxurious Nantucket “cottage,”called Summerland. The massive Monomoy mansion boasts gorgeous views of the water, a gift-wrapping room, and exterior guest cottages so visitors can rest in comfort. Summerland — and it seems Nantucket itself — is ruled over by Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Tag Winbury (Liev Schreiber).
When a wedding guest dies on Winbury’s property ahead of their middle son Benji’s (Billy Howle) marriage to zoologist Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), the idyllic Summerland is turned into a crime scene. Soon, cops are trampling the flower beds, everyone’s a suspect, and the family’s darkest secrets come to the surface.
However, you might not care about the plot of Netflix’s The Perfect Couple. Instead, you might just want to plan a getaway to wherever it is Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, and the rest of the glamorous cast got to hang out while shooting the show. You want to know where The Perfect Couple was filmed!
Here’s everything we know about The Perfect Couple‘s filming locations, from the Massachusetts coastal town that doubled for Nantucket to the wild lengths the production went to accommodate Eve Hewson’s commitments to Bad Sisters Season 2…
The Perfect Couple Filming Locations: Was the Nicole Kidman Show Really Shot in Monomoy, Nantucket?
So did The Perfect Couple really film on Nantucket? Specifically, the mansion-studded enclave of Monomoy? Well, sort of.
There’s various shots and b-roll of the actual island of Nantucket, but by and large, the nearby Cape Cod doubled for the WASP wonderland.
However, if you check the press notes for The Perfect Couple, you’ll note that the show was filmed in Massachusetts, London, and Los Angeles. It’s not uncommon for interior scenes to be shot in Los Angeles, but it is weird for an American production to go all the way to London just for an epilogue set at the London Zoo. So what gives?
“Most of it was shot on Cape Cod and some of it was shot on Nantucket. But after the [SAG-AFTRA and WGA] strikes, it was so tricky getting the entire cast together,” The Perfect Couple director and executive producer Susanne Bier told Decider. “Eve Hewson was filming in London. She was filming Bad Sisters and her Nicole are the two main characters and so we had to work it out so it could work with Eve Hewson.”
“The answer to that was to build part of the New England house on the stage in London, which is we what we did. Even for someone like me that is so used to being on set, coming in to Nantucket on a stage in London was pretty magical.”
Where is the Real Summerland? How to Visit the Winbury House From Netflix’s The Perfect Couple:
Jonesing to visit the real Summerland and take in the scenery like you’re Greer Garrison Winbury? Well, you’ll have to go to Massachusetts…but not Nantucket or Monomoy. While details on the exact house used for Summerland are scant — likely because it’s a private residence — Netflix’s own Tudum site confirms that it is located on Cape Cod in Chatham, Massachusetts.

What Is Monomoy’s Meaning, Anyway?
Monomoy is a word originated by the Wampanoag people, indigenous residents of the Massachusetts region for over 15,000 years, and was adapted from an Algonquin word meaning “a mighty rush of water,” according to GothamCanoe.
