‘Bad Monkey’
While you’re eagerly awaiting the premiere of Shrinking Season 2 and the potential return of Ted Lasso, Apple TV+ has an exciting new Bill Lawrence series to help hold you over: Bad Monkey. Based on Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel of the same name, Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), a suspended Miami PD detective turned health inspector who investigates a suspicious death in hopes of earning his old job back. The stacked cast includes including Meredith Hagner, Rob Delaney, Michelle Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Zach Braff, and even Bill’s daughter Charlotte Lawrence in her TV debut. The 10-episode series is packed with twists, has a banging soundtrack of Tom Petty covers, and is being praised as Vaughn’s greatest role in years.
