A new group of influential women will be bringing the drama to Hulu, and this time it’s not the Kardashians.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will be coming to Hulu this fall, starring a slate of popular Mormon mom-fluencers who were allegedly part of a sex scandal that swept international headlines.
The new unscripted series will follow influencer Taylor Frankie Paul, who took to social media in 2022 to reveal that she and her husband, Tate Paul, were getting a divorce after lines were crossed while “soft swinging” with their group of married friends. Taylor revealed that she reportedly went “all the way” with one of the husbands in the friend group without their partners’ consent, which was against the boundaries they set as “soft” swingers.
“The whole group was intimate with each other,” Paul said on TikTok, per PageSix. “Tate has made out with several girls and other things, and I’ve made out with all of the husbands and vice versa.”
She later introduced her new partner, Dakota Mortensen, on TikTok as the person she “cheated with.”
Paul has not shared a statement regarding the Hulu series, but she and her Secret Lives co-stars have all been sharing promotional videos teasing the premiere date. In one such video, Paul can be seen crying with text reading, “Can you finally tell us how it happened and how it affected the people around you?”
The series also stars popular TikTok influencers Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mayci Neeley, Whitney Leavitt, Layla Wessel and Mikayla Mathews.
According to the show’s official logline, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives chronicles how a “scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal that makes international headlines. Now, their sisterhood is shook to its core. Faith, friendship and reputations are all on the line. Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?”
It’s unclear just how much of the drama the Hulu series will get into considering Season 1 will only have six episodes.
Aside from her swinging scandal, Paul also made headlines when she was arrested in 2023 for alleged domestic violence, after which the video evidence was handed over to the Herriman Police Department, suggesting that “Ms. Paul’s minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul.”
This isn’t the first Mormon reality show that has made a splash. TLC’s Sister Wives has hit a major road block since three of Kody Brown‘s four wives have divorced him between 2021 and 2023. It remains to be seen if the TLC series will return with new episodes about the fractured family.
Hulu has also made several series exploring the Mormon culture, including the 2022 reality series Mormon No More, about two Mormon mothers who fell in love and leave their church to build a life together.
Until then, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives promises to bring more drama, more kids, and possibly, more sex to reality television this fall.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 1 premieres on Hulu Sept. 6 with all six episodes.
