This week’s new movies on VOD include biopics, action thrillers, and comedies perfect for everyone. Despite the middling reviews received by Bob Marley: One Love, Kingsley Ben-Adir still serves up a great performance in the film, which came out on demand last Tuesday. The Aussie trio of Luke and Liam Hemsworth and Russell Crowe join forces as Air Force officers in Land of Bad.
And the the first movie from the Saturday Night Live writers known as Please Don’t Destroy (Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy) is out now on demand this week, too. Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain is, as Decider reviewer Raven Brunner called it, a “daring mix of juvenile comedy, high-stakes adventure, and genuine lessons,” as the trio of writer-comedians play exaggerated versions of themselves as they set out on a treasure hunt together.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Bob Marley: One Love
Bob Marley: One Love stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as reggae legend Bob Marley during what would ultimately be the last five years of his life. The film begins in 1976, the year an assassination attempt on Marley’s life took place, and follows him and his wife Rita (Lashana Lynch) through their personal lives, the making of his groundbreaking album Exodus, and the eventual cancer diagnosis that led to his death at age 36.
Land of Bad
In filmmaker William Eubank’s Land of Bad, Liam Hemsworth stars as an Air Force sergeant trapped in the Philippines after the Dekta Force team he was accompanying is ambushed and seemingly wiped out. His survival depends on a drone pilot, played by Russell Crowe, who appears to be the only man competent enough to pull off the rescue.
