‘Big Mood’
Big Mood is a rare little gem of British comedy that will have you thinking of everything from Ab Fab to Fleabag. Like the raunchy ’90s hit about two messy adult female friends blustering through life, Big Mood‘s charm comes from besties Maggie (Nicola Coughlan) and Eddie’s (Lydia West) loving, punchline-punctured, completely mad antics. However, like millennial touchstone Fleabag, Big Mood dares to wade into the darker side of adult life. Maggie struggles with bipolar disorder, but is terrified to stay on her lithium for fear it will hold her back as a playwright. Meanwhile, Eddie is not only stuck cleaning up Maggie’s messes, but the stress of running her deceased father’s bar and juggling a persistent ex. Big Mood will have you laughing riotously except when it’s going to make you cry — in the best way possible.
