Tuesday
Julie Louis-Dreyfus is an undeniable comedy legend, so her role in Tuesday, in which she plays a grieving mother, is definitely something her fans aren’t used to seeing. In the film, Dreyfus plays Zora, the mother to a terminally ill 15-year-old named Tuesday. As Tuesday’s death grows near, the women are visited by a giant macaw who serves as something of a harbinger (or maybe a death doula), helping them process the impending loss.
The Dead Don’t Hurt
Kevin Costner isn’t the only guy around helming the next great American Western: Viggo Mortensen wrote directed, starred in and scored the Western drama The Dead Don’t Hurt, where he plays the sheriff of a Southwestern town around the time of the Civil War. He and his wife (played bu Vicky Krieps) attempt to raise their son amid their internal struggles and the sometimes antagonizing folks around them.
