After months of speculation, The Real Housewives of Dubai Season 2 finale reveals exactly why Lesa Milan and Chanel Ayan decided to end their once-close friendship.
It all starts when Caroline Brooks and Taleen Marie tell Ayan that she acts “different” when Milan is around. The supermodel explains that she raised her castmates’ concerns to Milan off-camera, but the Mina Roe founder allegedly told her not to talk about it since it would make her look like a bad friend.
Tensions ultimately come to a boiling point when Ayan goes against Milan’s demand and brings the conversation up at the Goodbye Dubai party she’s throwing with Caroline Stanbury. However, things take a different turn as Milan accuses Ayan of making it seem as though Stanbury was talking poorly about her after their lunch together.
According to Milan, Ayan told her that Stanbury felt like she was “bragging” about her houses and her desire to purchase a farm. But when she confronted Stanbury about it, the latter denied ever using that word.
“For the first time, I don’t know how this is even possible, but I believe Stanbury over Ayan,” Milan says in her confessional. “I believe that she didn’t say I was bragging. Because she is the one that brought up the whole farm thing to me. I think Ayan made it up. She’s lying. And I think that’s the most hurtful part. She’s going to look me in the face and lie like that.”
Ayan, however, is adamant that she never told Milan that Stanbury said she was bragging, prompting a screaming match between the two women in which Milan calls Ayan a liar in front of the entire party, while Ayan accuses Milan of trying to come between her friendship with Stanbury.
“I’m actually surprised that this one word — bragging — that was never said, has caused all of this,” Stanbury says in her confessional. “And actually, this is not about the bragging. Lesa is never gonna admit that she’s upset that Chanel has become friends with me ever. Because that is the real reason she’s upset.”
As Ayan walks away in tears, she declares in her confessional that she will “never forgive [Milan] until [she] dies.” Meanwhile, Milan holds back tears as she tells the cameras, “I don’t know where we go from here. I feel betrayed. I feel hurt. This is not my friend. This is not my sister. This is not the person that I’ve known for so many years. I don’t recognize her anymore.”
The closing scene reveals that Milan reached out to Ayan several times over the following summer, but never received a response.
Here’s hoping Andy Cohen can bring them back together at the reunion!
