FOX Nation is preparing for takeoff in its newest venture, Top Combat Pilot.
Hosted by Emmy award-winning actor Dennis Quaid, the upcoming four-part series will follow “25 of the best combat pilots in every squadron of the country” as they tackle the US’s most elite aviation course, Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI), in Yuma, Arizona, per a press release shared by Fox News Media.
FOX Nation president Jason Klarman said, “Dennis Quaid not only played a pilot in the iconic movie The Right Stuff, but he is also a licensed pilot — we couldn’t think of a better person to host this series.”
In an exclusive clip obtained by Decider, Quaid tells viewers, “Everyday at WTI, every evolution says something about each pilot in the program.”
He introduces F-18 student Neidermeyer, a pilot who underwent a “critical timing error during his first evolution,” which means he has to “rebound fast.”
“Not an easy feat with amounting pressure,” Quaid continues. “Everyday brings a new opportunity, but those chances are already dwindling.”
Viewers are then taken inside the F-18 flight equipment room with students Neidermeyer and Spritz, who while donning their gear, emphasize the importance of “when you talk, make sure you know what you’re talking about.”
“Said some dumb things that could’ve been better,” Neidermeyer said.
Spritz then chimed in, noting that “there’s critical times when the one comm call needs to be correct.”
“For timing, or for spacing, or for deconfliction,” he continued. “If you miss that critical time, it can have huge ramifications. You gotta nail it when the time’s right.”
The two come to the conclusion that “nail[ing] it the first time really is what it is.”
“Get it right every time if you can, really!” Spritz exclaimed.
Top Combat Pilot lands on FOX Nation on Monday, Nov. 6. Watch the exclusive clip above.
