The youngest person to complete a Naked and Afraid challenge is now returning to the show for a chance to win a new title: Badass in the Jungle.
Julia Bulinsky, now 21, will be returning for Naked and Afraid Season 17 in a new challenge set in the South American jungle. In a new clip exclusively shared with Decider, the young contestant confesses she’s “not really nervous” going into the new challenge, considering she already completed a two-week Naked and Afraid challenge in Mexico back in Season 14.
Bulinsky learned the ropes from her mother, Naked and Afraid all-star Trish Bulinsky, who was named “Badass in the Jungle” during her run on the show.
“My mom’s the person that taught me everything I know in the survival game,” she says in the clip.
The exclusive sneak peek shows Trish offering her daughter a pep talk ahead of her journey in Colombia.
“There’s quite a high bar already,” Trish says.
“She’s done three challenges so far, but I was 18 in my first challenge so I still hold the record for youngest person to compete in a Naked and Afraid challenge,” Julia says of her mother, before joking, “She’s not letting me come home if I don’t stay the 21 days. That’s the rule.”
The clip shows Julia traversing the rocky terrain of the Colombian jungle on horseback as she declares, “I’m coming for my mom’s title of Badass in the Jungle.”
But the young contestant may get more than she bargained for when she’s faced with torrential rains and life-threatening flash floods.
Julia first appeared on the show in Season 14, when she ventured into the Mexican rainforest with Waylon Harper, son of fellow Naked and Afraid all-star Wes Harper, to prove they’re just as good as their parents.
