Kelly Ripa disclosed Mark Consuelos‘ doggy doppelganger during Friday morning’s installment of Live with Kelly and Mark.
The reveal came during the show’s daily round of “Stump Mark,” where Consuelos was tasked with guessing which of the following statements from contestant Mary Maurer of Pennsville, NJ was true: “I taught second grade for 33 years” or “I’ve been a dog trainer for 33 years.”
While questioning Maurer about the latter statement, Consuelos asked what her “favorite kind of dog to train” is, to which she replied, “a Rottweiler.” As for why, Maurer explained that “they’re big, but they’re very intelligent.”
Ripa chimed in, “I always think that Mark looks like a Rottweiler. Like, if a Rottweiler turned into a human being. Don’t you think, Mar?”
Maurer responded, “Yeah, I guess.”
Then Ripa insisted, “You know I’m right. Now that you see it, you can’t unsee it.”
After Maurer added that “they’re strong,” Consuelos listed off other characteristics that he felt he shares with the dog breed.
“And they’re loyal… That’s right. And they’re smart. And they like their bellies rubbed,” he quipped with a chuckle.
Consuelos then attempted to guess which statement of Maurer’s was true.
“Here’s what I think, Mary. I think you and I have a connection,” he teased. “I think you and I are connected, because when you see me, you think I look like Randy the Rottweiler. And I think you’ve been a dog trainer for 33 years.”
However, Maurer quickly burst Consuelos’ bubble, revealing that she actually was a second grade teacher for 33 years.
As Ripa celebrated Maurer’s “amazing” win, Consuelos eventually congratulated Maurer — but not without a hilarious one-liner first.
“I just peed on your lawn,” he joked.
