Nicola Coughlan just shared some breaking news for Bridgerton fans.
She and her co-star Luke Newton had previously revealed a silly snafu from filming a sex scene, telling outlets such as Irish radio station that RTÉ 2FM that “a piece of furniture collapsed under [them]” in the process.
Coughlan took to Instagram on Thursday — which also marked the show’s highly anticipated Season 3, Part 2 Netflix debut — to disclose the broken furniture item in all its glory, per People.
Featuring a picture of her and Newton with thumbs up alongside a chaise lounge with a broken wooden leg, Coughlan wrote that they “put [their] heart and souls into” the latest installment, ultimately telling fans, “hope you love watching it as much as we loved filming it.”
The post, which Newton also shared to his Instagram story, included a zoomed-in picture of the broken leg, as well.
Coughlan recently made headlines with her cheeky response to a reporter who deemed her “very brave” for taking on a nude scene.
“You know, I think it is hard because I think women with my body type — women with perfect breasts — we don’t get to see ourselves on screen enough,” she teased. “I am very proud as a member of the perfect breasts community. I hope you enjoy seeing them.”
She also opened up to Stylist about taking ownership of the nude scene, deeming the scene in which she is “very naked” to be her “idea” and “choice.”
“It just felt like the biggest ‘fuck you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering,” she explained. “I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how fucking hot I looked!’”
As for Newton, he joked during a May appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show that he has to “get really good with the fast-forward button” before allowing his mother to tune into Season 3.
Bridgerton Season 3 is streaming on Netflix.
