‘Kinsey’

In honor of Pride Month, we should celebrate Alfred Kinsey, pioneer sexologist and creator of the Kinsey Scale. The best way to do that is by watching the film Kinsey, which tells the story of the scientist’s life and career. Liam Neeson stars as Kinsey, who started as a biologist before his fascination and knowledge of sexuality caused him to pivot fields. He starts teaching classes about this topic and works with a research team to create education books on sexuality. Of course, none of this is without controversy, which means Kinsey has to figure out ways to fight through the obstacles so he can be heard. The film is both educational and entertaining, as it demonstrates a fascinating shift in history. The role is not like most of Neeson’s parts, but he does a fantastic job portraying all of the excitement of Kinsey’s life story.

Written and directed by Shyamalan, the films stars Josh Hartnett as Cooper: a lovable dad by day, and a serial... Read more
