‘The 1975: At Their Very Best’
The English rock band The 1975 exploded into the mainstream in 2023 when frontman Matty Healy began dating Taylor Swift just as her defining Eras Tour began dominating all of popular culture. Though their affair only lasted a few short weeks, the band’s profile undoubtedly spiked, earning themselves millions of new fans worldwide. Don’t call them a flash in the pan, though; The 1975 has been making albums for over a decade at this point, and only a small percentage of their fanbase are recent Swiftie converts. The band’s new concert film, At Their Very Best, serves as an example of that.
Recorded live in July of 2022 from the world famous Madison Square Garden — nearly a full year before Healy and Swift’s whirlwind romance — ATVB showcases the band, well, at their very best. Healy’s charisma and bad boy energy is in peak form, and the thousands of screaming fans shouting every single word of every single song back at the band makes for one of the more entertaining concert movies of this century.
